The sensor on the radiator has three wires, low speed, high speed and ground. I took two wires and attached one to the high speed wire and one to the ground wire and ran these back into the car to a small on-off switch. When the switch is off, the fan runs in it's automatic mode, low with A/C on and then temperature or pressure from A/C is high the high speed kicks on. At any time I can turn the switch on and this grounds the fan on high speed. The fan is now on high until I turn the switch off. Now I can turn the fan on without having the A/C on.
It works very well.
Look at the wiring diagram in Bentley manual and you will see how easy this is.
