I understand...was there once but had to drive a VW bus ferrying 8 people so no chance to have fun.

Will never forget the flashing headlights in my rear view mirror in the left lane that means "get the hell out of my way" as they rocketed past at 120+.

Couldn't believe all the Porsches in the rental car garages.

And everyone seems to trick their cars out nicely with good taste and high performance in mind!

Just spent a week in Germany and drove the Autobahn for the first time. What a blast! The only downside was my Opel wagon rental :>( Five minutes after getiing on the A6 an E34 M5 blew by in the left lane at about 220Km/H (124 Mph). I looked over at my wife and said "I love this country!". A few minutes later a Z3 or M Roadster (moving too fast to tell) went by much faster. Driving in Europe is such a pleasure. The left lane is sacred. Cars move over as soon as they see someone approaching from behind. And no worrying about the Polizei either! One hour of driving back in the states and I was ready to rip my hair out.

Next time I'll spring for a rental Bimmer and really have fun.
