I've used Buckhead Motor Werks in Sandy Springs several times when I first got into BMWs they have always been fair and have offered me several options when things needed replacing. Always appreciated. Recently David Harrison has opened Harrison Motorsports. Very good bunch of guys who are knowledgable and enthusiastic about the marque.
If you need dealer service, then I've been you might want to try Global Imports (although I like their parts department better than their service dept). I've also heard good things about Chris BMW although I've never used them. I've started going to their parts dept because they are closer and have been pleased so far.
If you're on the east/north-east side of Atlanta, I would recommend Rheinhart Imports off of Hgwy 78 in Snellville. They did the Inspection II on my '94 530i last week. The price was around $485 and man was the car feeling good afterwards. They will inspect the car and give you an overall report on it and what may need to be replaced over the next few months. Tell them Chris sent you if you go.
I need some service work done on my '95 540iA... Inspection II, some problems with the factory theft deterrent system, and a "Trans Program" error. My question concerns using a dealer service dept. or another "aftermarket" service shop. I have a dealer that I've used and feel fairly comfortable with but I know a bunch of you guys (and gals) don't like the dealers. Both the dealer and some other reputable shops in the Atlanta area have quoted me similar prices on the Inspection II service, around $600.
Should I use the dealer or one of the other shops?
Who can I trust to do the best service and treat me fair?
Any other suggestions regarding good shops in the Atlanta, Ga. area.
Thanks for the help... I love my "Green Machine" and just want her taken care of!
