Depends on where you are located. I highly recommend Motorbahn in Roswell, Rich DeFrancisco is a great mechanic and definatly knows how to take care of your car. They are fairly expensive by independent standards but I have not had a bad experience with them. In the same neighborhood is Harrison Motorsports. David Harrison and Paul Alber are great guys, top quality work, and are much cheaper on parts and labor. David has some of the lowest labor rates in the area and does give a CCA discount on top of that. Both shops have plenty of experience, the mechanics all spent many years at area Dealers so they are very qualified. Bye the way, Tech Sucks ;o)

I need some service work done on my '95 540iA... Inspection II, some problems with the factory theft deterrent system, and a "Trans Program" error. My question concerns using a dealer service dept. or another "aftermarket" service shop. I have a dealer that I've used and feel fairly comfortable with but I know a bunch of you guys (and gals) don't like the dealers. Both the dealer and some other reputable shops in the Atlanta area have quoted me similar prices on the Inspection II service, around $600.
Should I use the dealer or one of the other shops?
Who can I trust to do the best service and treat me fair?
Any other suggestions regarding good shops in the Atlanta, Ga. area.
Thanks for the help... I love my "Green Machine" and just want her taken care of!
