Dropping the pan and replacing it is a 4 hour job... just had it done. Has someone diagnosed that the noise is from the bottom of the engine, not the injectors or valves?

No... its definately from the bottom. The dealer has looked at it twice. one tech did think it was the torque converter or the flex plate cracked. The second said it was in the bottom.. He disconnected the #6 spark plug wire and it stopped. Im in a spot not knowing and having to trust the dealer to spend $500 just to learn more. The car is a 90 535 in wonderful shape. Im having a compression test done next week. I would have to have the dealer do the engine and I bet Im looking at $10k by the time its done.
