It's for an E32, but is probably similar:

The door lock has an "emergency" position. Turn the key past the normal
unlock position while lifting the door handle. The key will take more
twisting force than normal to go this far. Release the handle and lift
it again to open the door.

The car can be locked by using the interior lock buttons and turning the
key in the door lock past the double lock position.

Using these techniques may cause the locks to fall out of
synchronization. To resynchronize once power's restored, close all the
doors and turn the door key all the way clockwise to the "emergency"
lock position. Then test the locks for normal operation, and repeat the
resynchronization procedure if necessary.
