Hi Bill,

You know, I kept that housing for months but when we moved (back in May), I tossed it.

I did study that housing in detail as I was hoping I could redesign the valve seat and put in an off-the-shelf valve. Unfortunately, there did not seem to be a simple solution.

Then I thought about a spin-on adapter, but again, the design is such that it necks down from the flange, preventing machining.

On my Austin-Healey, which uses a canister design, I have indeed installed an adapter plate for a spin-on filter with a check valve and it works great. We could do the same for an M30 but a design would have to be worked out.

I am willing to design one, but would need an old housing from someone. George, do you still have your old one??

Thanks for thinking, Bill.

Regards,
Adnan
