A '95 525iT.
I was checking torque on the strut bolts that bolt the strut into the body. There are three on each strut under the hood. Some were torqued to about 10 ft-lbs. Others to around 15 ft-lbs. I realize the spec is 16 ft-lbs. But I thought I'd torque them all to 20 ft-lbs because I've been having some movement under the front end that I can't figure out. Anyway I went around to torque them all to 20 but one of them only went to about 18 and then twisted off.
Is the car safe to drive now? Should I go with an OEM single strut or replace both with an after market?
