Those prices sound pretty high, I bought the OEM Eberspaecher rear muffler & front resonator for $370 total for both, delivered, from Zygmunts. Installation is all nuts & bolts with no additional parts unless replacing the rubber donuts & misc. nuts. You could buy them yourself & have an independent shop install them & come out way ahead to the options you stated. From what I've read on this board, Bosal mufflers rust out quickly. SuperSprint would be nice, BMP has them. I Don't know if they will give any noticable improved performance over stock unless you have other engine upgrades, the BMW factory mufflers are well designed for our cars.gale

i have a few quotes from midas and car-x mufflers. These are not for bmw mufflers. probably ansa or borsa (?) they say. The prices run from $730 to $830. Another mechanic wants $940 for a BMW system. All of these include the two mufflers and piping but no catalytic converter.
Can i purchase Dinan or Supersprint somewhere and have someone else install them? Where?
