My orginal canister did not even have a check valve in the canister. It fell out, or someone took it out. So i bought a used canister from Vines BMW in alabama. And as Adnan said it is just trouble. Although it sealed better, it still took 3-5 sec. for the oil pres. light to extingwish. This is on the car now. So i when to a local machineist (who is a friend of mine) and see if he had anyway to fix the bad valve. This is what he did.
By using a long drill bit he shaved away the four tabs that may hold the valve in. Then he took a long rod and tryed to punch it out cafefull not to damage the valve it self. But the SOB would not move. (may be in part to that the tabs were not shaven enough)
So i had only one option. To buy a new one. (i all ready replaced the O-ring) So after one week our new oil canister came today. I will install it tomorrow.
This is what i think. If one could take out the valve and install a stronger spring, i think that it would seal much better. What do you think? Because the valve feals very light on the canister i had before. I think if anyone has a spare casister aroung they should try to tear it apart. I may do this my self, but I am not sure. I will keep you posted.
