My 1993 525i went into the panelbeaters today following my prang last weekend.

The guy from Alliance Insurance (BMW Insurance) called just now to say that repairs are authorised and I don't have to pay an excess and I don't lose my no claim bonus. They will also pay hire car fees up to $80/day up to two weeks.

So no hassles with the insurance claim (it wasn't my fault)and it's now up to the panelbeaters but I don't know how long it will take yet. Hopefully no longer than two weeks.

I picked up my hire car this morning a 2001 Nissan Pulsar ST 1.8 Sedan. Plain white and auto. Now I know why I drive a E34 and not a buzzbox. I'll just have to keep away from places people might recognise me.
