Sorry for the double posting - the Board seems to be a touch sensitive to typos and sends your message flying before you intend to send it...

Thanks for the great posting with all the details. It answers the query in my earlier posting about switching seats! Isn't this board great or what!?

I had my shop exchange my seat bottoms last year at about 95K miles and found the unused passenger seat bottoms much more comfortable. They charged me about $100 for the job.

I don't think they exchanged the seat backs which is what I'd like to do next to even out the wear caused by the shoulder harness chafing on the side of the seat back. I pulled the back panel off this afternoon and looks like you can switch the armrest to a mounting hole that's located on the opposite side. The heater wiring will need attention as you mentioned.

My driver's armrest is loose and woobles a bit side to side - not too bad but BMWs should have everything firm and tidy. The mounting bolt from the armrest to the seat frame is tight so it's the hinge mechanism. I can't see how one can get to it without cutting open the armrest. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Larry
