I doubt it's the capacitors. Much more likely that the speddo sensor in the rear differntial is going out. The sensor stops sending the signal, so the speedo drops to zero. The computer thinks the MPG is 0 since the car isn't moving (it thinks).

but see this happened when i WASNT moving....so it went up then down to zero mph, with the MPG gauge going up then down and so on.....
