My car is still under the BMW extended warranty, and I finally convinced BMW that the thrust bushing was bad on the left side. They will only replace the bad one, and not the other side.

So, I arm-wrestled them into letting me replace the struts and bushings, and they will press the new bushings into the thrust arms for free. Also, they will align when I'm finished.

There was no way I was going to replace parts on just one side of the front end of my car.

I am going to borrow a tie-rod puller to get the thrust arms out of the strut mounts.
