Matt, my left fog light wasn't getting any power, so I took the cover off of the LKM and cleaned the contact on the electro-magnetic relay that stands alone. That did the trick and has worked perfect since then. I believe that the other two relays are one for the low beam and one for the high beam. If you are not getting power to one of your headlights, I suggest that you clean the contacts on both of the relays. You can actually install the LKM with the cover removed and watch the relays engage,BUT make sure all power is off when installing/removing since you can fry this thing. Hope this helps.
It appears my LKM is on the fritz. Has anyone done the rebuild themselves on it based on the e32 guy who posted how to do it?
Thing is there is 4 relays on the e32 LKM.....but only 3 on the e34.....I assume there is one relay for the left and right low beams....and then the third one controls both the left and right high beams?? The fog lights are not controlled by the LKM I assume?
Also....will reconditioning usually do the trick and make it work again?? Reason I ask is I had my father try to resolder the contacts....but it was very hard to tell which ones were broken....and when I tried it left low beam still wasnt working.
