Brace yourself against the passngers seat, put it in 4th and pull up really hard. Use your legs too. When it comes off it will be all at once. Watch out as you can hit yourself pretty hard. When you put the new one on (if it is made for a BMW) press hard to get it on, mine came off once while driving, not fun.
