Have not had to go to Global Imports BMW to claim the warranty as the rotors had no problems. I did specifically bring this topic up. That if the rotors warped within the first year, I would bring them back. They agreed. Now, I've bought lots of stuff at Global Imports and know the parts guys pretty well. They may have been making an exception for me (don't know), but if they were, it illustrates the value in cultivating a relationship with a local parts guy.

I used factory until warranty ran out on the car, 4 sets done at the dealer, that was in the first 50K miles. After that I've used Bremo drilled, I'm on the 2nd set at 195K miles. My other car did well on ATE slotted. Has any one (Don) tried to use that dealer warranty of 12 months on a consumable like brake disc, I suspect they may not honor it?

As said before, local dealer will warranty them for 1 year. Most (if any) mail orders houses will not. Plus if you show your BMW CCA card, the discount makes the price quite attractive.

Do NOT mess with OEM's or 3rd party parts. Get factory rotors from the dealer, I am as thrifty as anyone but genuine rotors are balanced, none of the aftermarket ones are to the degree of originals. Also factory rotors come with a 1 year warrenty and they are usually about the same price. You will also need a metric allen to get them off, squirt a little WD40 on it and let it soak in.
i have some shimmying upon braking at the higher speeds and believe it might be the front (?) rotors. any advice on this job and any suggestions on rotors?
