The engine lack torque in low end but that is the design of the engine... more power on higher RPM. With S4, my car is quick off the line... seem like first second is like a pause and then the car screams.

When upgrading the wheels, choose the right size... I think 235/45R17 is slightly smaller than OEM 225/60R15 so the engine quickly spools up... sort of like a cheap differential gear change. I do notice that when I switch to the taller winter tire, that the engine takes longer to spool up beside the squirming of my snow tires.
