I think you got it. I'd look for some fraying connections in old wiring (12+ years old) I'c check the area that flexes near the trunk hinge bar. Raise the trunk till the light goes out. Poke and prode the wiring harness. When the light comes on (or goes off) you are in the vicinity of the problem.


Please excuse my picky question... however, my truck interior lights have recently ceased to work. I suspect it is a wiring issue as they are not entirely out of service, they come on when the truck is initially opened but go out as the trunk lid is raised up. I have not been able to locate the switch (but have not torn things apart, yet).

If anyone has had the same experience, it love to heare how it was fixed.
