Misses related to the VC gasket generally happen when the plug holes fill with oil, causing the spark from the coil to partially ground out to the block (thru the oil). If the plug holes are clean and dry, you probably don't need a new gasket. You are getting close to the mileage at which you would need one, though....

Replacing the valve cover gasket this weekend on my wifes 95 525 with 66K on the odo. What else should I replace while I'm in there?

It misses on startup until you start to accelerate. I'm thinking a leaking valve cover gasket may be the culprit. I've already replace the plugs of course. If that doesn't fix it then it's on to the O2 sensor (although I think it would run poor all the time if that were it).
