06/28/00 65,000 Bought car.

12/05/00 69,000 OIL SERVICE @ BMW DEALER $32.48

08/29/01 75,000 TODAY - NEED OIL SERVICE SOON PROBABLY. LIGHT HASNT GONE ON YET FOR IT.

#1 I don't follow the SI lights. I have and always will change at 3000 miles for regular, 5000 miles for synthetic.

#2 Seals wear out. My indy is good at tracking that stuff down. The output seal was leaking, the guibo was cracked, and the transmission mounts were sagging; I saw them all and agreed with him, and agreed with the results afterwards.

#3 The water pump replacement was unavoidable; the shaft bearings failed.

#4 Pads and rotors are wear items. If you haven't changed them yet, you will soon.

#5 Headlight? Close encounter with a rock on the road. NC inspection won't pass a car with a cracked headlight lens.

#6 Always, always do Inspections I and II, for your own peace of mind and resale value should you ever decide to part company with the car. You may want to make sure your car had an Inspection II at 60k, and you're due an Inspection I at 75k.
