The fan on my 1989 535i with climate control panel, the one with the three rotary thumbwheels, gave up the ghost and would only blow full power with no variation through the regulating thumbwheel. I had to pull fuse 19 to keep me from going nuts. My local garage has stripped the dash back to the control board and found that the diodes were goosed. Luckily I have been able to send to England to a company who specialise in repair of BMW circuit boards, which will cost 50 instead of the 450 asked by BMW.

Question..- Does this board have anything to do with the A/C control, as my system is fully charged but the clutch on the compressor will not engage, hence no cold air. I would like to get the A/C back on line although in Scotland it is difficult to imagine the need for A/C anyway!!
