Todays antifreeze also contains alot of anti corrosion components and lubricates the water pump as well.

I think you need a full flush (maybe even treat the car to some BMW citrus cleaner). Don't forget to do the heater circuit and the block. Yours sounds like it is well past due. While you are at it, I'd check the hoses as well.


i checked my antifreeze in my 535i and the exspansion tank was filled with coolant a light rusty brown color, i took it to my friend whos a bmw mechanic. we flushed the radiator out and refilled it the next day the tank was filled with gunk again. the car runs fine and the engine oil is it possible for the head gasket to be bad?
i have no antifreeze in my engine at all. ive owned the car for 4 years my mechanic says that it has never been flushed and that the radiator has a lot of crap in it. has anyone ever heard of this happening in other beemers. i would appreciate any input at all. help!!!!!!! its a great car i just want to clear up this small problem thanks
