something.

The ol' 540i is going in for the Nikasil
test next week. Mechanic assures me the car
will fail no matter what. I'll have dealer
replace clutch at same time as short block.

Flywheel questions:
Did most of you folks need a new flywheel at 80k miles?
Can the dual-mass flywheel be resurfaced?
The 540i uses a 265mm flywheel, I can't find any other
5 series that shares this same size (e28 or e39), so
are there any options other than sticking with the stock
dual mass flywheel?
Does anyone have a lead on who makes lightweight
flywheels for e34's? I heard there was a place in
California that makes the flywheels for most of the
aftermarket BMW performance stores, and that buying
direct saved a lot of money.

Thanks for any advice. Will post summary of responses and
experience with the new short block.

John Feng
