are trying to escape liability from any incorrectly installed accessories, and give them a way of getting out of warranty coverage for damage caused by incorrectly installed accessories. as long as they are correctly installed, you shouldn't have any problems, nor if there was to be a problem can they deny warranty coverage without proving what you installed caused the problem.

(you won't lose warranty coverage on your drivetrain because you installed an aftermarket radio, although you probably couldn't claim it on the factory speakers if they blew...)

I just bought a 1995 525IT and see in the handbook that I am not supposed to use a portable cell phone, or a radar detector. Is it true that using either one could damage anything electronic in the car? I have a friend who uses both in his & hasn';t noticed any problems.
I'm sure this has come up before on the forum, but I can't find it & I am new at this.
