I'm doing the same this weekend. I was looking at it and it looks like if you take the rotors off and the the shield behind the rotors, then you'd have access to the ball joint with out getting under the car. It seems like if you have to get under the car, then you can't get much of a swing with the hammer. Do you think this will work?

I have been tested and I have passed. I lost many of the battles with the fork, but I won the war. Several days, several bloody knuckles and a 3LB sledge hammer taught that F--kin' ball joint who the boss is. I would like to thank all that helped me along the way...Patrick at BMA, Bruno, etc. I look forward to a shimmy free ride...can I get an AMEN? I can only revel in my success for a short time because the control arms and sway bar links are next. Thanks again to the entire board for your help.
