Ya know. I just couldn't get the impact socket on the last remaining bolt on the steering plate. So, I took the through-bolt out of the lower control arm, and swung the arm out of the way. Very easy to do, and you've got direct access to all the steering plate bolts, which allows you to swing the strut assembly out of the way, to give you direct access to the ball joints.

Then you can stand outside the edge of the car, swing that 3lb sledge with authority, just down below the height of your knees.

Don't miss, because if you make it to this point, you're probably swinging seriously...
