It could have limited slip without having heated seats. Chock the wheels & jack up one of the rear wheels with it in neutral with the handbrake off. Can you rotate the wheel freely? If so then not limited slip. If it won't rotate or rotates with extreme resistance then it has limited slip. You can also look at the tag on the left rear side of the differential cover, it might have "S3,46" or "S3,91" where "S" indicates limited slip & 3,91 = 3.91:1 gear ratio. If it has the ratio but no "S", then not limited slip.

Another check is to lift both rear wheels with it in neutral & no handbrake. Rotate one wheel & it the other wheel rotates in the same direction, then it has limited slip. If they rotate in opposite directions, then it does not.

92 735i, "S4,27", no heated seats

I am consdiering the purchase of a '92 535. From what I was told it does not have the heated seats. Which I know means it doesn't have the winter package. Is it still possible for it to have a Limted Slip differential and how would I know? (other than lighting up the tires).

Thanks in Advance,
Al Canata
