1. I'm no lawyer and I don't know what kind of impact a judgment would have against you.

2. Having said that, don't count on the errors on the ticket being any help. I had planned on that ploy once when I went to court for a b.s. speeding ticket, but the case was all over before I could even point out any flaws. It wouldn't matter anyway, the cops will lie their asses off before they'll admit they made a mistake. (all due reverence to peace officers, etc.)

3. I spent four hours in traffic court watching all the cases before mine. A lawyer NEVER did any of their clients any better than those who represented themselves (I think if it was a matter of DUI or something like that, it would be a different story).

4. Unless you do something really bad and then don't show up for your date, you are pretty much guaranteed some sort of break by the judge. Having witnesses will probably increase your odds even more. Generally, they don't want to tie up the system any more than it already is.

Tallahassee Florida, USA

I'm still not accelerating fast, see the cherries go off in the rearview, cop pulls both of us over (2 cops in 1 car). Tells me I was "spinning my tires, causing smoke and debris" (BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!). Gives me a ticket for Exhibition of Speed, dunno what happened with the Corvette. Anyhow... what should I do, guys? I guess I'm gonna have to get a good lawyer... I had 2 passengers, so they'll be witnesses... I would really appreciate your help on this, I'm scared shitless of getting this on my insurance (I already went to traffic school last year, don't have that option).

Can anyone recommend a good lawyer in the Los Angeles area?

Thanks guys... this is bullshit... the law just hates kids driving better cars than their american POS squad beaters.

BTW, he wrote on the ticket "97 BMW 535i". Dunno if I should be honored or something, but would this provide a flaw in his case? He also wrote August 31, 12:40 PM, when it was 12:40 in the morning, just after midnight. Also said I was doing 40 in a 35, but I looked down at my speedo when I saw him pull in behind me (lights off) and I was only doing 30 or so. DAMN this pisses me off, I'm totally innocent, and I'm gonna have to spend money to prove it??? FUCK that system, man...
