In the US, there was a TSB for ASC equipped cars and the solution was to replace the ASC module.

Hi all.
I have an interesting fuel related problem that has been consistent in my 1992 535i SE Manual(E30) since I bought it in 1999 at 90k. Its now got 158k on the clock but just maybe someone out there can help isolate it for me.

Drive down a road at around 30 MPH in 4th or 5th gear (1800 RPM approx) and go over a road bump that you know the rear wheels noticed and within 50- 100 yds the car misses on all cylinders for a second. It will do this again in another few seconds till it irons itself out over the next quarter mile. It will not miss if after you go over the bump you hit the gas pedal. It powers away perfect.

I can tell you whats its not! plugs, points, HT leads, dizy cap, fuel filters, I've cleaned the tank, removed and cleaned the fuel pump, even the cylinder head and injectors have been off for other maintenance and on assy its still there exactly as discribed no change. Any ideas what to swap next???

PS The only after market manuals for BMW in UK are Haynes and about as usefull as a chocolate teapot.
How good are the USA Bentley manuals?
Should I own one for this vehicle.
