A fan shoved thru the radiator could be catastrophic but who's to say that would happen. As an alternative, you could remove the fan/clutch & rely on the aux. fan to kick in & do it's job until you get a new viscous clutch, just keep an eye the temp gauge. It would be more of a problem in-town & wouldn't (shouldn't) over heat on the highway without it.

It appears the fan clutch is going south. The allen bolts are all tight on the fan.
How sudden does these fail completely? and is it safe to drive this weekend until I can get a new clutch, or is there a posibility of the fan going through the radiator?
There is very little play, but it is noticeable.
