I'll admit to placing a high value on my car. I was really pissed a few months ago when I got T-boned in my 1991 535i. Not a lot of damage, but now the paint doesn't match and the BMW dealer did a pretty lousy job with the repair. But, when you really think about it, your life and the life of your love ones is the highest priority. If your car gives itself up to save you, then you should feel lucky. I know that if it came to it, I'd gladly give up my 1991 535i for my girlfriend and her daughter. I was really glad to see in a recent issue of Reader's Digest that the BMW 5 series was rated very highly for crash safety. So did the Toyota Camry, which is what we just bought my girlfriend. I am glad you are okay. Good luck finding another BMW if that's what you want.
