rattle from rear inside deck (archive)

alright, i spent 4 hrs today trying to locate a rattle in the rear inside deck, with no sucess! geeze, it's so frastrating! basically i gutted the rear interior to find this annoying rattle and i just can't find it! it's coming from near the drivers side rear speaker. sounds like two pieces of metal clapping together. any ideas what this might be? seriously i have looked at everything, and it's just totally bogging me. my friend says it may be the strut. what do you think??? thanx in advance!
