Hey josh,
I'm not looking for $20, but I read where on the bottom of the afm is the allen adjustment for the afm. Right next to it is a number stamped into the body of the afm. This number represents the depth of the allen screw when adjusted from the factory. Bill R. has also recommended the use of an exhaust gas analyzer for CO levels to set the adjusting allen set. I can pop mine off and take a picture for you if you still need it.

Ok i know this is on shrot notice but i need help bad. I was wondering if anyone in the chicagoland area new of a afm for my 1989 535i around. I need one, used or new, or whatever. As long as it functions somewhat. Mine is completely useless, the contact is horrible, and it is so out of adjustment that when the car is floored the actual arm brush(copper arm) on the interior of the actually goes of the contact and kills the car. I am sick and tired of tryng to adjust this.

Another thing that might help is if someone had a pic of there afm(the inside under the black box) for me. If someone takes a pic of there functioning afm, and also tells me how tight the spring tension is. i will give them 20 dollars. Im serious, the next day iwill adress you in the mail 20 dollars. This photo must include info on how much the larg idle gear in the afm was tightened, just a rough estimate.

just email me the photo andyour address, allong with info on the afm, and maybe the miles on your car. Id prefer a car with over 100k miles. This will make it a lil more precise.

anyways thanx,

josh gore
