Thanks for the insight.
One thing to consider, that may be based on your driving patterns, may be the tires. What I have experienced on my 530i is tires that flat-spot from lack of use. Since you only have 64k on yours, you may be in that category. I have found, especially with Michelin tires, that if the car sits for 2-3 days or more, the tires will have very significant flat spots that take about 10 minutes of driving to round out. It produces a terrible wobble in the rear axles. Solutions - use the car daily, or try the tire cradles, seen advertised in many magazines or perhaps another brand of tire. I'd be curious if you think this may be your problem - let us know.
I have a '94 540i Dinan with 64k miles. Problem is that there is a wobble in the chassis of vehicle at 28-32 mph and again at 58-62 mph. Have replace wheels and tires to no avail, balanced them several timea. Feels like problem is in drive line or wheel bearing. Took to local dealer who replaced rear transmission mount. That helped but did not totally alleviate problem. Dealer stated that carrier bearing in driveshaft and guibo we good shape. Any ideas? Also, if driveline is under a load through hard acceleration the problem is not noticable.
