My car is a 1995 525i, and the alarm is an alpine. I am pretty sure the only way the alarm can be set is with the remotes. I don't know of anyway to get the alarm to work by just using the key. The 3-button remotes are sold on ebay almost daily. It will cost around 100$-150$ from the dealer. The red light on the back of the console next to the cigerette lighter is the LED indicator that illuminates when your car is double locked. Yes, your radio anti theft light should blink. Hope this helps.

I have a 1992 535i and under the rear seat, it has the alarm computer that says BMW Prewired on it.

What kind (if any) of alarm do I have. I do not have to remotes to it. Can I get thoese and where.

If I dont have the alarm still working? (If someone breaks in, will it go off?)

Also, Whats the red light for next to the cigerate ligher in the back?

Is the Red Light on the radio (Anti Theft Light) supposed to blink or anything? Mine doesnt!

Is there any way that when you lock the doors with the key that you can make it Meep Meep and arm?

Is there anyway I can test the alarm???
