The latch post can be adjusted to make the glass door close more tightly. This might be all you need to do (I assume the motor keeps spinning).

So, to adjust the post, push the black plastic flange on the inside of the glass door up, you'll see a nut on the latching post. Loosen the nut, screw the post in a couple of turns, close door and test. Rinse, repeat. When you've got the wiper working and it's not too hard to close the hatch, lock the post back into place with the nut.

If this isn't the problem, it doesn't look to me like there's any way to move the main assembly (I've got the trim off the rear hatch right now). Perhaps the hole in the little wheel that the pin fits into has been enlarged over time?
