Early models before feb 89 had release tabs. You'll have to use an exacto knife and cut around the white retaining tabs before pulling board up.

Has any one replaced the capacitators in the instrument cluster for 1990 535i. I attempted this yesterday with no success. I disassembled the three main cluster components but could not pry the computer board away from the case. There are not screws as indicated on Bruno's wonderful site. It look like the computer board the its plastic casing were injected togethers. Any pointers will be appreciated
