I can come up with more questions that I really should know the answer to than maybe anyone on this board....

1995 540iA with "lifetime" fluid (bunch of crap).
There is a fluid reservoir under the hood that says "ATF only" on the cap. Is this for the transmission fluid? I figured that lifetime fluid meant no way to add fluid either. I have a GM car with a sealed transmission and thought the Bimmer was like that. So I just wanted to know if this reservoir was for the transmission fluid which would mean that I could check the fluid level and add if necessary. Thanks.
