Contact BMW North America. I think they'll be happy to provide you an owner's manual and service booklet. The service booklet contains a postcard for you to notify BMW NA that you're the new owner. It's important that you let them know so they can contact you regarding any recalls. Provide the VIN.

You should also visit the local dealer and have them check the database to ensure that all recall repairs have been done. The database tracks recall work.

Check the pockets behind the seats. Often owners will keep the owners manual and the service booklet in the seat pockets.
