My tranny just started showing similar symptoms. Reverse is fine on flat ground, but slips if I try going up a slight incline.

What does a valve body job fix, what does it entail, and what does it generally cost?

If you have NO reverse it may be too late to just do the v/b. You will know by dropping the pan and looking for big chunks of aluminuim from the reverse imput drum. Good luck finding a "certified" ZF trans builder/shop they have no certifications avaliable from ZF. If you want any more questions answered go ahead and give me a call today (Monday) (616)748-5735 direct to me.Good luck!

My apologies and thanks in advance - there were several posts earlier this year that dealt with 5HP30 tranny issues but I was unable to find them in the archives. Can someone point me to a certified ZF repair/rebuild facility in the Dallas/Fort-Worth area? The forward gears are fine. Can this be fixed with the valve body update kit or am I too late for that?
