My apologies and thanks in advance - there were several posts earlier this year that dealt with 5HP30 tranny issues but I was unable to find them in the archives. Can someone point me to a certified ZF repair/rebuild facility in the Dallas/Fort-Worth area? The forward gears are fine. Can this be fixed with the valve body update kit or am I too late for that?


I just had the same problem, could drive forward but, no reverse. The cost was $2100 for a kit to
be put in and, it lasted only one year. Come to find out, the housing was worn and yes you can put a kit in every year or have tranny replaced with a
rebuilt one from BMW for $5700 including labor. I
had this done 10 September so, its worth the replacement. I hope this bit of info helps and these are California prices.
