There's a little sight glass on a canister (forget the official name) that the freon passes through. If you see streaks or alot of bubbles when the compressor is on then you need freon. When the compressor is not kicked in.

Hi,
When I turn on the AC, the compressor kicks in. However, if I am at idle or at a stoplight, the air is not cold. This is very apparent on a hot day. Also when the AC is switched on, there is a noticable diff in accelration, the car pulls slowly.
Is it normal for this model/year? Also, is there a way to check if more freon needs to be added.
I don't know if this model/year has a AC microfilter.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks
Raju
