best bang for your buck would be the mods you have in mind.(chip ect.)I assume you dont want to spend $$$$ on turbos and such. I have a 535ia and after looking into all the various,expensive mods out there on the market i have concluded that the best way to get more power is to buy a bmw with more power. M3,M5,540. Driving school is fun and you will learn the upper limits of your car BUT you wont be any faster getting on the freeway.Or off the line. Dan likes to assume that knowone can drive but himself. beg to differ.

I will agree with you that chips add power, but I don't think anyone here thinks they are a superior driver. A school helps you learn to control the car in real driving situations, those you are likely to encounter on a twisty mountain road, off-camber, high-speed, etc., not the standard freeway merge. I hate to say it, but any idiot in a Caddy Eldo can drive fast on a freeway. Our cars excel in handling all driving surfaces and conditions, not just blending into traffic on the onramp.

If you want to go fast in a straight line, add the chips and exhaust. If you want to go fast the other 75% of the time, learn how to handle the car as is, then add mods as you learn the car.

I don't presume to be an expert by any means, but it's nice to know what you have before you "improve" it.
