If all you want is 0-60 times, then there are cheaper ways than moding a 525. You need displacement. As my friend Neil says, the 525 is the basement of displacment.

For great 0-60 times, you need lots of displacement, light car and high diff ratio. That's all. Don't need a 525 to do that. Much cheaper alternatives. Get a 70's era Mustang (427 Cobra Jet) or a late 60's era Camaro.

Any of those will go faster 0-60 than you will EVER get out of a 525 with NOS or a chip.

(Daily drivers)
95 540i
95 ///Miata
02 C240

(not so daily drivers)
71 Mustang Mach1
81 MB 380SLC
87 Porsche 928S4

I was wondering what the best way to get my 95 525i to go faster is without NOS. I was thinking a Dinan trans chip engin chip and free flow exhaust. Does anyone have any other input?

Buy a 540 manual. Or...change rear end, add supercharger, chips, exhaust, headwork, M3 cams, etc. Be careful though that you don't explode the slushbox.
