Given the copious amount of cash the service needs to perform a no-brain insp II, most owners sell their cars around 60k without the Insp II. The tricky ones know about resetting the indicators so..

- look at the air filter
- look at the plugs
- look at the PS fluid
- check out the brake pads
(all visuals)

If all of them look less than satisfactory, it's time to do the Insp II. Especially if you don't know the hist of the car - that way you start out fresh.


Is there any way at all to tell if an inspection 2 was already done. I bought the car slightly above 60,000 miles, and neither I nor the dealer knows whether the inspection 2 was done, and of course there is no way to get ahold of the previous owner.
