I have that single CD in-dash receiver as
well in my 735il. Like it for precisely the
same reason...clean and unobtrusive.
The model I have is the Kenwood 715S which I believe now has been superceded by a later Kenwood
model with slightly different controls. Incidently, I thought the bright blue triangular
on/off button was too bright so I took apart the
removable receiver unit..the size of a harmonica..
and masked the light source. Overall aesthetics
are real nice now and sound is far superior to
the stock head it.
Best Regards,
90 735il/145K

I don't know the model off the top of my head, but I just picked it up at Circuit City. I also got a trunk-mounted 10-disc changer. They probably aren't up to an audiophile's standards, but they're fine for me. That particular receiver head folds up into a black plastic face when it's not in use. It keeps the dash looking clean and spartan, which is why I like it.
