Ride is firm but sporty. Southern California roads are in pretty good condition, so 18's and H&R springs do just fine in my book. I upgraded to
18's and H&R springs on the same day, so trial run, but ZERO regrets! First set of tires were
Pirelli P7000SS, which were ok, but since then
I have upgraded to Michellin Pilot Sports which are awesome and completely change the set up of the car...smooth, quiet and fun around corners, BUT pricy at $250 a tire. No dents or problems
with the 18's, but I have heard other people having problems due to road conditions in thier area. Let me know if you have any questions.Brett
How's the ride with the 18's? (Did you get a chance to test them out before you put the springs in?) How does the whole setup feel?
Probably a silly question, but are the 18's prone to denting easily (stiff bumps etc) any more so than smaller diameter wheels?
Cheers,
Dan
Hey Dan,
Thanks for the compliment. I bought the wheels
at Crevier BMW (Santa Ana, CA). They are
18X8 all the way around, 235/40/18 Michellin
Pilot Sport tires with H&R lowering springs.
You are correct, no hub centric rings needed
as E38 & E34 share the same hub and off set,
therefore I bought E38 18X8 Radial Styling
wheels. The whole set up has worked out
perfectly! Now if I could only add the Dinan
exhaust like JE has....that would be the
finishing touch!
Brett
