It is possible that you may be missing a part. I installed a Autoloc system in my 525ia and it was easy, it was new and came with all the parts needed.

I do not know what the BMW system consists of , but maybe this will help.

Look at the wire loom near the battery for an unused plug. If another system was installed, the plug may be connected to something already.

The (BMW) receiver box should have a wire loom with a plug. Look for a mating plug near the battery under the seat.

I just bought a keyless entry keychain transmitter of ebay and my car does ahve to the box under the seat how to i put the two on the same signal? 95 530i thnaks John

its anctual bmw keyless but their are not dip switches in it.
