It could be that the fresh petrol 'upset' the computer and it caused the errors. Unless your clutch was slipping (6 speed=manual)your revs would still be ok but as your instrumentation is electric that could have been part of the problem.

If the problem occurs again, pull over and turn off the ignition, then restart the car hopefully the fault will have resolved itself. It could be a faulty relay, computer, sensor...all kinds of things.

In extreme cases you can reset the computer. Disconnect the battery for 2 minutes and then hook it up again. This is a pain the a** as your clock, radio code etc will all need resetting.

Good luck

Last night I went to my local Mobil station filled up my 540, Got in started and went. I didnt think much at first but by the time i hit 3rd gear i noticed the car had a loss of power. The tach showed higher rev than normal. At 6th gear around 70mph flat road i rev about 2500 +/- 200, my 540 was reving at 3400rpm..weird. I arrived at my destination. Went in had a drink later when i started to go home the son of a bitch was back to normal...anyone have a clue???

Its funny I felt like i was in a different car.!!!Or someone elses car.
